Though not from a racing family, Ellis Spiezia was inspired by his grandfather’s love for cars. He got his first sim rig at 10 years old and learned to drive manual with a steering wheel vice-gripped to a kitchen stool. His passion for racing led him to set lap records at a local indoor kart track and compete in regional and national championships.
When the family realized a different path was needed to break into the sport, they discovered electric motorsport. They sold their car, gave up their apartment, and moved to Europe to pursue racing. Four years later, Ellis is now a factory driver for a new electric class in NitroCross, a series created by his childhood idols. He’s excited about the future and aims to climb the ladder, win the Group E Championship, and be the first to backflip a Sierra Car (on purpose).
